Frequently Asked Questions (2024-25)

Why join MEA?

MEA provides USC students from all majors with opportunities to get involved in the entertainment industry. Our club equips members with the skills, knowledge, and connections to build a successful career in entertainment.

How do I pay my dues?

MEA membership is attained by paying an annual membership fee. Dues are required to attend MEA events and receive communication from the club. Here’s what you do:

1. Venmo  @uscmea $20.00 (Fall, 1 year) / $10.00 (Spring, 1 semester)
2. Provide your name, USC email, graduation year, and major in the payment description. If you don't have Venmo, don't stress! Email us about alternative payment methods.
3. Enjoy events all year long! Dues are valid for one academic year and do not carry over.

Is MEA only for Marshall students?

Not at all! MEA is open to all students, regardless of declared majors and minors. To become an MEA member, check out our Join Page. The membership fee is $20 for the academic year, $10 per semester. These fees help cover costs for club events, studio tours, and thank-you gifts for our guest speakers.

Can graduate students join MEA?

While they cannot hold executive positions in the club, graduate students are welcome to become members of MEA! However, there is a similar organization specifically for graduate students at USC known as the Business of Entertainment Association (BEA).

What is MLDP?

The MEA Leadership Development Program (MLDP) is an exclusive semester program where members can shadow the MEA E-Board to gain experience for future leadership opportunities. MLDP participants shadow each E-Board department in weekly cycles and assist board members with their responsibilities. They also get to plan their own event for the end of the semester!

How can I apply for E-Board?

All MEA members are eligible to apply for any E-board position! At the end of the academic year, we will send information about where to apply via our socials and weekly newsletter. Our two-part application process involves a written application and interview for the specific position of interest.
